Alterations 〰️

With over a decade of bridal experience, I’m here to help your wedding gown fitting be the least of your wedding worries. Don’t let the fit and length of your gown stress you out, I can make sure you’re going to be comfortable all day or night long and not tripping down the aisle. Want a bustle? I’ve got options for you to make sure you can dance the night away. If you want, of course, I’m not here to tell you how to live your life. Have something a little more complicated in mind? There are plenty of custom options that will help make it the gown of your dreams, be it building sleeves, adding lace detail, or switching out the zipper for a corset back, and so so much more.

If you’re curious to know if what you want to do is possible, feel free to send a message and find out!

How long do alterations take and when should I request an appointment?

Well, it depends!

I recommend starting your alterations 10-12 weeks prior to your wedding, but we can start anytime before that if you just can’t wait (and know we’re looking at a lot of work).

During peak wedding season I’m typically booked out around a month, and sometimes more, so you should request your appointment as soon as you can. Remember, I’m only one person, so there is limited space!

I will accept appointments slightly closer to your wedding date as long as I have availability, but anything closer than eight weeks before your wedding will result in a rush fee, dependent on how many weeks I have to work on your gown.

How Much Will All This Cost?

The price of alterations can vary so much! My average price for wedding gown alterations runs around $850, which includes all your fittings, plus your alterations to make your gown fit your body, hem the length and adding a bustle. This can vary depending on the difficulty of your gown, like if you have a lot of lace or beading going on; as well as the specific alterations you may need to be done. The only way to tell you what your alterations will cost is when I see you in person!

I have my moms dress or veil that I’d like updated. do you do that?

I do! I love my heirloom pieces. Be it from the ’90s, ’80s, or decades before, I’d love to help recreate your family gown, veil, or both to suit your personal style and fit! Sometime’s it’s as easy as removing some puffy sleeves, but we can get as intricate with the work as you want. If this is something you’re interested in doing, set up an appointment for an heirloom gown consultation and we can make all your wildest dreams come true. Also - check out the heirloom gown page to see some past work!

For most bridal gown alterations you will have an average of 3 fittings, depending on how much work needs to be done. If you’re wanting some type of customization (anything other than your run of the mill alterations like fit, hem or bustle) this will take a little longer. If you’ve got a specific project in mind, you can always contact me about timelines. Remember, custom projects are not quick!
