Alterations

With almost a decade of bridal experience, I’m here to help your wedding gown fitting be the least of your wedding worries. Don’t let the fit and length of your gown stress you out, I can make sure you’re going to be comfortable all day or night long and not tripping down the aisle. Want a bustle? I’ve got options for you to make sure you can dance the night away. If you want, of course, I’m not here to tell you how to live your life. Have something a little more complicated in mind? There are plenty of custom options that will help make it the gown of your dreams, be it building sleeves, adding lace detail, or switching out the zipper for a corset back. Are you in the bridal party and noticed that your dress was a foot too long and doesn’t fit quite right? I can help you out too.

If you’re curious to know if what you want to do is possible, feel free to send a message and find out!

How long do alterations take?

Well, it depends. If it's for your wedding gown alterations, I love to start around 8-10 weeks before your wedding, but we can start anytime before that if you just can’t wait. I will accept appointments slightly closer to your wedding date as long as I have availability, but anything closer than two weeks before your wedding will result in a $50 rush fee. Also, during peak wedding season I probably won’t have availability the day (sometimes the week) that you contact me, so make sure to set up your appointment a few weeks before you would like to come in!

As for all of you bridesmaids, moms, flower girls or guests out there, I’d like to have at least 2-3 weeks to alter your outfit, but the same rules apply! Remember to book early!

How many appointments will I have?

For most bridal gown alterations appointments you will have an average of 3 fittings, depending on how much work needs to be done. If you’re wanting some type of customization (anything other than your run of the mill alterations like fit, hem or bustle) this will take a little longer. If you’ve got a specific project in mind, you can always contact me about timelines. Remember, custom projects are not quick!

I Have my moms dress or veil that I’d like updated. do you do that?

I do! I love my heirloom pieces. Be it from the ’90s, ’80s, or decades before, I’d love to help recreate your family gown, veil, or both to suit your personal style and fit! Sometime’s it’s as easy as removing some puffy sleeves, but we can get as intricate with the work as you want. If this is something you’re interested in doing, set up an appointment for an heirloom gown consultation and we can make all your wildest dreams come true.

How Much Will All This Cost?

The price of alterations can vary so much! My average price for wedding gown alterations runs around $500. This can vary depending on the difficulty of your gown, like if you have a lot of lace or beading going on; as well as the specific alterations you may need to be done. The only great way to tell you what your alterations are going to cost is if you bring your gown in!

For all other formal wear, the average is closer to $150. These all vary with difficulty and individual alterations needed as well; but are usually much easier, and therefore less expensive, to alter than a wedding gown.
